DIXON, Raymond R. “Ray” , age 71 passed away Monday, March 6, 2017 at Spring Hill Singing Woods of Dayton. He was born June 2, 1945 in Philadelphia, PA, son of the late Raymond Morrissey & Sarah (Ayers) Dixon.

Ray was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict where he served two tours, was a retired employee of Delco Products with 35 years of service and was an Adjunct Professor for Central State University. Ray was a kind and generous man who loved golf, hockey, the Reds, Bengals, Buckeyes, Celtic music and his dogs. He was also very proud to have traveled with Fairhaven Church on their mission trip to Jordan in 2008.

Preceded in death by his cousins, Pat & Ron Rodarmel, Ray is survived by his wife of 50 years, Pamela of Tipp City; daughter, Jennifer Webb (Scott) of Vandalia; 3 grandchildren, Hannah, Nathan & Kaelyn Webb; cousins, Dot & Larry Rubincam, and his beloved dog, Molly. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, March 10 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Mr. David Webb officiating. Interment will follow at Polk Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening (3/9) from 5-7 pm. If so desired, contributions may be made to the Hopeland Church, 6025 Miller Lane, Dayton, OH 45414 in Ray’s memory. The family would like to offer their deepest thanks to the entire staff of Spring Hill Singing Woods for the loving and compassionate care they provided for Ray.
