Retta M Mitchell

MITCHELL, Retta M., (Lauretta Marie) age 47 of Vandalia, passed away suddenly October 17, 2007 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her father, John H. Mitchell, brothers David & Kenneth; sister, Angie and nephew, John William. Retta is survived by her mother, Pauline (Howard) Mitchell; brothers, Steve Mitchell (Kathy) of Tipp City, Bill Mitchell (Tracy Martindale) of Middletown, Phil Mitchell (Natalie Seto); sisters, Nancy Carpenter (Robert) of Strongsville, Barb (Pat Berrey) of West Milton and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews and friends. Retta loved children and was employed at the Childrens Medical Center in the NICU and at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy. She was an avid baseball player and LOVED DOING FOR OTHERS. Retta was a member of the St. Rita Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, October 22 at St. Rita Catholic Church with Fr. Geoffrey Drew officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., on Sunday evening from 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Childrens Medical Center NICU in Rettas memory.
