Rev. William I. Brown

April 11, 1933 — May 3, 2013

In the purpose of God, it pleased Him to call unto Himself, William Isaac Brown on Friday, May 3, 2013. Bill was born on April 11, 1933. He was a faithful minister of Gods Word for over 60 years. He pastored the Covenant Baptist Church, formerly Ft. McKinley Baptist Church, for 53 years until his retirement in April of 2009. He and his late wife, of almost 50 years, were blessed with five children. Bill was preceded in death by his first born son, William Jr. in February 1973, his wife Rita Mae in November 2001 and his son-in-law Larry R. McCord in December 2012. His sisters Claudanna and Jean and his brother Carl also preceded him in death. He leaves on this earth to cherish his memory his second born, a daughter, Rebecca McCord, and her five daughters, Emily and her husband, David Kemp and their six children Abigail, Mya, Mitch, JD, Keagan and Cameron; Natalie and her husband, Nathan Teffeteller and their two daughters, Becca and Anna; and Sara, Kristin and Kathryn; his third born, a son, Jeffrey and his wife Tabatha and their children Joshua and Victoria; his fourth born, a daughter, Melissa and her husband, Tim Wirrig and their four children Amy, Colin, Jennifer and Andrew; his fifth born, a son, Scott and his wife Lindsay and their children Caleigh and Ronan. He also leaves to cherish his memory his church family, his two brothers, Vernon and Robert Brown, as well as his Thursday Golden Corral lunch friends who brought him much joy, friendship, fellowship and lively conversations. Bill was a graduate of Stivers High School, class of 1951 and Cedarville College, class of 1955. The family respectfully requests that no flowers be sent. In lieu thereof, contributions may be made in Pastor Browns memory to the Covenant Baptist Church Missions Fund. Burial will be Saturday, May 11th at 10:30 a.m. at the Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery, 8135 N. Dixie Drive in Dayton. A memorial service will be held that afternoon at 4:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1501 E. Third Street in Dayton. The family will receive friends beginning at 3:00 p.m. Upon a life I did not live, upon a death I did not die " anothers life, anothers death- I rest my soul eternally.
