Rev. Ronald C. Hajarian

HAJARIAN, Rev. Ronald C., age 84 of Englewood, passed away Friday, September 9, 2016 at Brookdale Centennial Retirement Community. He was born May 6, 1932 in Brockton, MA, son of the late Edward & Araxie (Kabadian) Hajarian. Ron graduated from Boston University and the Hartford Seminary in Connecticut. Rev. Hajarian was ordained into the United Church of Christ and served UCC community churches in Hollansburg, OH, Mansfield, OH and Bascom, OH and retired from Polk Grove United Church of Christ in 1999 after nearly 30 years of service to his Polk Grove family. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Ron was a kind-hearted person who made an impact in the lives of all who knew him, and he never met a stranger. He supported his family and community and truly loved being a part of the lives of everyone he served. Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jan in 2007, Ron is survived by 3 daughters, Rhonda Hajarian of Englewood, Wendy & husband, James Arnold of Powell, and Amy & husband, Jason Skinner of Clayton; 5 grandchildren, Sydney, Molly, Sophia, Spencer & Jackson; 1 brother, Gerald & wife, Karen Hajarian of Hudson, OH, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 pm, Sunday, September 11, at Polk Grove United Church of Christ, with Pastor Jay McMillen officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 3:00 pm until time of service. Private family graveside services will be held at Polk Grove Cemetery. If so desired, contributions may be made to the Northmont Education Foundation, 4001 Old Salem Road, Englewood, OH 45322 in Ron’s memory.
