Richard E Barber Sr.

BARBER, Richard E. SR, age 65 of Vandalia, passed away Wednesday October 18, 2006 at Miami Valley Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born September 28, 1941 in Dayton, son of the late Robert E. Sr. and Irene Barber. Richard was a retired auto mechanic from Montgomery Ward Co. and was a former employee of Morning Pride Inc. of Dayton. Richard loved Corvettes and was a member of the Cruise City Cruisers. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Veronica (Thorne) Barber; one son Richard E. Barber Jr. & wife Kristen; one grandson Devin; one brother Robert E. & wife Kay Barber of GA; one sister Deborah Sue & husband Doug Folck of New Carlisle; uncle Ronald Sweeney of Red Lion, OH and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm Monday October 23 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia with Rev. Danny Griffith officiating. Burial will follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6 to 8pm.
