Richard F. “Richie” Byrd

Age 53, of Tipp City, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 8, 2016.

Richie loved to play golf and socialize with his friends.

He is survived by his mother, Lynn L. Whaley; sister, Tricia L. Byrd; his beloved cat, Buster; uncle, David Greimann; aunt, Robyn Sue Hickman; and cousin, David Hiatt.

Richie was preceded in death by his father Richard G. Byrd; his grandparents, Victor & Lois Greimann and Beatrice & Curly Byrd; cousin, Stephanie Hiatt; and step-father, Kanani Whaley.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 15, at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Pastor Michael Malcosky will officiate. The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to the Vandalia United Methodist Church or to SICSA.
