Richard W. Furlong

FURLONG, Richard W. age 86 of Vandalia, passed away Thursday May 7, 2015 at Kettering Medical Center following an illness. Richard was born September 19, 1928 in Tipp City, son of the late Sam & Elsie (Weinert) Furlong. He was a retired employee of both Chrysler and the Mazer Corp. and was active at the Vandalia Senior Citizens Center. Mr. Furlong was preceded in death by his wife deLois in 2013 and 2 sisters. He is survived by 2 sons Keith & wife Karen Furlong of Clayton and Bill & wife Robin Furlong of Englewood; one sister Peg & husband Pete Hertlein; 2 grandsons Ben & wife Abbie Furlong, Ethan & wife Elisabeth Furlong; one great-grandson Cason and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 13 at 2:00pm at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia. Burial will follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00pm until time of the service.
