Richard Kahkola

Richard J. Kahkola Age 72, of Vandalia, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2014. He was born August 20, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Wilho Richard & Alice (Potter) Kahkola. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Dorothy Kahkola. Dick was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and retired in 2008 as Vice-President of Wisco Products where he had worked for over 44 years. He is survived by his wife of the past 54 years, Donna (Swartzel) Kahkola; four children, Wendy Casey, Steven (Sheri) Kahkola, Eric (Kim) Kahkola & Susan (James) Robinson; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and seven siblings, Barry, David, Paul, Bill, Beverly, Ken & Kevin. The family will be receiving friends from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., Tuesday (12/30) at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday (12/31) at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 7700 Dog Leg Road, Dayton, Ohio 45414. Pastor Kurt Lammi will officiate. Interment will follow at Polk Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer that contributions be made to either St. Paul Lutheran Church or The Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420.
