Richard H. Osterholt

OSTERHOLT, Richard H., age 64 of Vandalia, passed away Thursday, August 23, 2007 at his residence. He was born November 10, 1942 in Mercer Co., Ohio, son of the late Carl V. & Eileen M. (Remaklus) Osterholt. Richard was a retired employee of Reynolds & Reynolds with 40 years of service, was an active member of St. Christopher Catholic Church and he enjoyed volunteering at various sporting events throughout the Vandalia community. Richard was also a local tax preparer in the Dayton area for many years. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Marilyn Osterholt; 1 daughter, Amy Miller (Matt) of Vandalia; 3 sons, Alan Osterholt (Michelle) of Vandalia, Jay Osterholt of Hilliard, and Ryan Osterholt (Mollie) of Moraine; 5 grandchildren, Mark Sanders, Zachary Miller, Anthony James Osterholt, Leland Richard Osterholt, and Madyson Miller; 3 brothers, Dennis Osterholt (Irene), Larry Osterholt, and James Osterholt (Judy); 2 sisters, Linda May and Mary Jane Fortkamp (Bob) and a host of other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, August 25, at St. Christopher Catholic Church, Vandalia with Fr. Francis Keferl officiating. Graveside service will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Coldwater, OH at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia on Friday evening (TODAY) from 4 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wellness Connection of the Miami Valley in Richards memory.
