Richard "Dick" Payne

Richard (Dick) Lee Payne, 75 of Vandalia, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton, OH. He was born July 25, 1936, in Dayton, a son of Sabina (Beanie) and Walter (Windy) Payne. Survived by his wife Peggy (Maggard) whom he married November 15, 1958, son Ronnie (Ellen) Payne and daughter Lisa Wells. Grandchildren Kurt and Kara (Dustin) Wells. Brother Don Payne. Nephews Dale, Doug and Danny Payne and many beloved family members and friends. Dicks life was exciting and fun-loving from his bronco and bull riding days, then later as a race horse owner, to his love of a good euchre game. After retiring as an electrician, Dick and Peggy enjoyed traveling to casinos and taking their grandchildren on trips. Dick was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers-Local 82, Amvets Post 99, and Eagles 2201. He was also a member of St. Christopher Parish in Vandalia. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Christopher Parish online at stchristopheronline.com or to the American Cancer Society. Dicks funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, May 4, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Christopher Parish in Vandalia. Interment Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
