DUNCAN, Robert A. Bob age 72 of New Lebanon passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born August 15, 1938 in Dayton, son of the late Edgar Lee & Helen (Rosenthal) Duncan. Bob retired in 2008 as the Night Manager of Lofinos Food Stores after 30 years of service. He was also a former employee of Albers Supermarket with 25 years of service. Preceded in death by his brother, David Duncan in 2009 and his loyal dog, Tara, Bob is survived by his wife of 50 years, Phyllis (McIntosh) Duncan; 1 daughter, Laura L. & husband, Dan Hoff of Lebanon; 1 son, Chris Michael of Englewood; 4 grandchildren, Ashley Guinn, Mark Guinn, Allison Hoff, & Kevin Hoff; 2 brothers, Donald & wife, Betty Duncan of Troy and Gerald & wife, Thelma Duncan of Dayton; 1 sister-in-law, Helen Duncan; foster children, Valerie, Dan B., John C., Woody B., Bill, Mary (Anthony), Kathy, Carol, Junior, Jessie R., Jacob C., Curtis S., and Anthony B.; and a host of other foster children and grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including his friends and family at Lofinos. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, March 19 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Jon Young officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5-8 pm. If so desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Bobs memory.
