Robert W. Hall

HALL, Robert W., age 92 of Vandalia passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013. He was born February 15, 1921 in Sanborn, IN, son of the late Charles & Cura (Frye) Hall. Robert was a self-employed carpenter and a member of the Polk Grove United Church of Christ. He served his country as a Merchant Marine and as a member of the 3 Cs (Civilian Conservation Corp). Preceded in death by his wife, Isabelle in 2005, 1 brother, Leonard Hall; and 1 sister, Martha Ditmer, Robert is survived by his 4 children, Kathleen Niswonger (Gary), Michael Hall (Kay), Peggy Beal, & Ronald Hall (Noreen); 8 grandchildren, Kelli, Casey, Jason, Ben, Emily, Justin, Lucas & Abby; 9 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, June 28 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Pastor Tony Miltenberger officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday morning from 10:00 am until time of service.
