HARLEMAN, Robert L., age 85, of Cincinnati, formerly of Vandalia, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2009 at Anderson Mercy Hospital. He was born May 5, 1923 in Dayton, OH, son of the late Dorsie & Elizabeth (Blue) Harleman. Bob was a retired Chief Master Sergeant, USAF with 30 years of service to his country including tours during WWII, the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He was a graduate of Vandalia-Butler High School, was a member of VFW Post #9582, American Legion Post #668, AmVets Post #99, the Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton and the West Milton Masonic Lodge #577 F&AM. Bob is survived by his wife of 41 years, Thelma (Simmons); 2 daughters, Heather Manis and Kandy Hundley; 1 son, Scott Harleman; 1 step-daughter, Sandra Deen; 2 step-sons, Billy & Freddie Woodward; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Thomas & Richard Harleman; 2 sisters, Joanne Sipe & Kathleen Schenck; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, April 22 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Burial to follow at Polk Grove Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm
