Robert E. Jacobs

JACOBS, Robert Elwood age 86 of Lakeview, OH, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at the Lima Memorial Hospital Hospice Unit surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 7, 1927 in Miami County, OH, son of the late Roy & Mary (Bridgeman) Jacobs. Bob was a retired electronics engineer from A.O. Smith in Tipp City and a member of the Huntsville United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by 1 brother, Jerry and an infant sister, Imogene, Bob is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dorothea Jacobs; 1 son, Robert "Frank" Jacobs (Juanita), and 1 daughter, Deborah (Jacobs) Erwin (Randy); 9 grandchildren, Michael, Chad, Wayne, Brian, Adam, Tommy, Elta, Rebecca, & Daisy; and numerous great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, February 13, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Pastor Brian Meadows officiating. Interment will follow at New Carlisle Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Putnam County in Robert's memory.
