Robert Grant Johnson

JOHNSON, Robert G. “Bob” age 72 of Vandalia, passed away Saturday November 10, 2018 at Hospice of Dayton after a lengthy illness. Bob was born September 25, 1946 in Dayton, OH son of the late James & Margaret (Humphrey) Johnson. He was a retired Glazer in the Dayton area for over 40 years. Bob was an active part of Two Rivers Community Church for over 25 years serving in various capacities within the church. He was known to many as “Mr. Bob” and was always willing to lend a helping hand to others in need. Bob enjoyed fishing and loved spending his time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers William and Walter Johnson. Bob is survived by his wife of 49 years Carol Johnson and his daughter Michelle Johnson both of Vandalia; 2 brothers James Johnson of Vandalia and Jack & wife Carol Johnson of Kansas City, MO; special friends John, Mitch, Mark and Scott and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday November 14 at 11:00am at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia with Pastor Mac Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Eversole Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5 to 7pm. If so desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Bob’s memory.
