JONES, Robert A., age 83 of Dayton, has gone home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 13, 2010 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born May 13, 1927 in Dayton, son of the late Arthur & Helen Jones. Bob was a retired City of Dayton Firefighter with 24 years of service. He was a WWII Army Veteran and a US Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church and was a life member of the VFW. Preceding him in death was his first wife, Joan M. in 1987, 1 son, Ronald; and 1 sister, Helen Gaeble; Bob is survived by his wife, Karen (Hurr) Jones; 2 sons, Dan R. & wife, Janet Jones of Huber Heights, Michael L. & wife, Bonnie Jones of Butler Twp.; 1 step-daugther, Chris & husband, David Haller of Troy; 1 step-son, Michael Kesler; 1 sister, Dorothy Marksberry of Kettering; 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, November 19 at the St. Christopher Catholic Church, Vandalia with Fr. Robert Monnin officiating. Burial to follow at Polk Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia on Thursday evening from 5-8 pm. If so desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Bobs memory.
