Robert L. Klopfenstein Sr.

KLOPFENSTEIN, Robert L. Sr., age 77 of Vandalia, OH passed away with loved ones at his side on March 23, 2016. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent & Helen, and his nephew, David Lee Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Helen Joan Klopfenstein; son, Robert Jr. (Tammy), son, Michael, and daughter, Stacie Orr (Butch); grandchildren, Dalton, Wyatt, Jeramie, and Laura; several great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Barbara Bradley and Vicki Lee (David); and a host of other family and friends.

Robert was a U.S. Navy Veteran and was a retired employee of the Chrysler Corporation with 33 years of service. He was a member of the VFW Post #9582, Amvets Post #99 and the American Legion Post #668. He was a 45-year member of the United Commercial Travelers and Robert was also an official member of the Jim’s Donut Shop BS Club. Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm, Saturday, March 26 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Pastor David Starry officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:30 am until time of service. Robert was an enormous supporter of several charities, and though he has passed on to his heavenly home he will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Vandalia-Butler Food Pantry in Robert’s memory.
