Robert H Oakley

OAKLEY, Robert H., age 81 of Fairborn, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, Friday, December 25, 2009 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born May 19, 1928 in Gibsonia, PA, son of the late Ralph B. & Mabel (Hardt) Oakley. He retired from Standard Oil of Ohio after 37 years of service, was a member of the Fairborn United Methodist Church and was a 1946 graduate of Fairview High School. Robert is survived by his wife of 60 years, Martha; 3 daughters, Dawn Oakley-Underwood (Jack) of Vandalia, Denise Bolton (Denny) of Riverside and Darlene DiMaria (Steve) of North Olmsted; 7 grandchildren, Tracy, Carla, Sara, Kelly, Wes, Brent & Nick; 9 great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, December 29, at the First Baptist Church, 140 Elva Ct., Vandalia. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 am until time of service. Burial to follow at Polk Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in Roberts memory.
