Robert R Sherer

SHERER, Robert R., age 92, of Butler Twp., passed away suddenly Friday, September 4, 2009 at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born June 24, 1917 in Dayton, OH, son of the late Raymond R. & Iva E. Sherer. Robert was Owner/Operator of Sherers Ice Cream & Candy Store on N. Main Street since 1948. He was a member of the Salem Church of God and had hosted the Independent Ice Cream Association Convention in Dayton. Robert is survived by his wife of 64 years, Vaunita (Schwyhart); 1 son & daughter-in-law, Robert & Barbara Sherer of Dayton; 1 daughter & son-in-law, Pamela & Dan Javorina of Huber Heights; 1 sister, Eleanor & husband, Charles Bennett of Bellbrook; 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, September 8, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Rev. James Titcombe officiating. Burial Polk Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6-8 pm. If so desired, contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association in Roberts memory.
