In 1970, he sold Parts Fabricators and devoted himself full time to his passion for music. He composed more than 300 works of a wide range of forms and for a wide range of performance groups. He studied composition and orchestration with several regional teachers. He was a member of ASCAP and the Troy Music Club. Roberts works have been performed throughout the United States.
