Ronald L. "Ron" Daugherty

Ron Daugherty was born April 1, 1962. He grew up in Vandalia and was a 1980 graduate of Vandalia Butler High School. We are saddened that Ron passed away in his home on October 26th, 2014. He was preceded in death by his father, Tom Daugherty in 2010. Ron is survived by his wife of 26 years, Sheeree; daughter, Stephanie; mother, Winnie Daugherty, sister Angie (Frank) Mikat. Ron is also survived by a very large and loving extended family. Ron was a huge sports fan and enjoyed following his favorite sports and teams. He was a dedicated fan of The Ohio State University, University of Kentucky, San Francisco Giants and the Cleveland Browns. Ron also loved watching Nascar. Ron enjoyed spending time with his mother and father in-law, Frank and Glenda Miller. He loved fishing with his father-in-law, Frank, in local fishing spots. He also enjoyed bowling and golfing. Family was important to Ron and he loved spending time with the friends and family that were dear to him. He was a kind and loving person to all who knew him and always had a great sense of humor and gentle spirit. Although Ron called Vandalia home, Kentucky was a special place to him. Many of Ron's family members live in Kentucky and the state held happy and cherished memories. Ron may have moved on from this life but he will live on in his family's minds and hearts for all of the special memories made together. We ask you to join us in celebrating Ron's life. He is at peace with our Lord for "Death for a Christian is not gloom, but glory!"
