STALEY, Ronald Lee Sr., age 78, of Dayton, passed away Monday, February 22, 2010 at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born December 27, 1931 in Dayton, OH, son of the late Albert & Vera Staley. Ron was a retired Sheet Metal Foreman with the Local #224, and was a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the 101st Airborne, followed by membership in the 162nd Fighter Squadron ANG. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton. He was also a 50 years member of the Vandalia American Legion Post #668 and a member of VFW Post #3283 in Huber Heights. Preceded in death by 1 son, Mark Steven Staley in 2005, Ron is survived by the mother of his children, Shirley A. Staley; his 4 children, Denise D. Stovell, Ronald L. Staley Jr., Randy L. Staley and Sherry L. Cole (Mike); grandchildren, Mackenzie A. Cole, Casey L. Cole, Randy L. Staley Jr., Jacob L. Staley, Leann Staley, Lori Staley and Conner Staley; 1 brother, Larry Staley (Phyllis); daughter-in-law, Karen Staley, Linda Honeyman, beloved friend and numerous other relatives and friends. A Memorial Service to celebrate Rons life will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 27 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Pastor Pamela Wantz officiating. Scottish Rite Ring Service will be held as well. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Linden Avenue Baptist Church, 101 Linden Ave., Dayton, OH 45403 in Rons memory.
