Ruby Carter

CARTER, Ruby of Vandalia, passed away Tuesday February 27, 2007 following an illness. She was born March 7, 1932 in Three Links, KY, daughter of the late Sam & Myrtle (Vaughn) Johnson. Ruby worked for Frischs Restaurants in the Dayton Area for over 40 years. She is survived by 2 sons Rick & wife Sheila Ford of Vandalia, and Jeff & wife Dreama Carter of Bradenton, FL; 3 grandchildren Katie and Beth Ford and Dillon Carter; 2 brothers Sam & wife Grace Johnson of Connersville, IN, Carter& wife Pat Johnson of Phoenix, AZ; one sister Ruth & husband Bill Githens of Bowling Green, IN and a host of other relatives and friends. The family received friends on Friday evening from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia. Private funeral services were held at the convenience of the family. Burial followed at Poplar Hill Cemetery. If so desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Rubys memory. The family wishes to thank the caregivers from Hospice of Dayton for their loving care of Ruby during her illness.
