Russell Anglemyer

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Russell (Russ) L. Anglemyer on October 12, 2024, at the age of 87. Russ was born to Joseph (Pappy) and Nettie (Mammy) Anglemyer on June 20, 1937, in Westville, OH. He met the love of his life and beloved wife of 51 years, Phyllis Anglemyer, in 1972. Phyllis and Russ are lovingly known to their grandchildren as Mamma and Pappa.

Russ worked as a heavy equipment mechanic at Wright-Patt. One of his most commendable and proud accomplishments was his service in the Air Force. Russ is cherished by his family and friends and known for his kind, loving, caring, and humorous personality. Many memories of Russ are related to his skillful restoration of tractors, his love for outdoor activities, and his love and adoration for his wife, Phyllis.

Russ is survived by his wife Phyllis Anglemyer; daughters Cheryl (Chere) Lynn Wintrich and Shellie Jo Keller; son-in-law Terry Keller; grandchildren Angela Gerber, Paul Gerber, David Wintrich, Andre Adair, Renee Adair, Michelle Adair, Emma Keller, and Joseph Keller; brother Jerry Anglemyer, brother-in-law Finn Wolfe; sisters-in-law Doris Anglemyer and Elsie Wolfe. Many loving nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, friends, and family members survive him.

Russ was preceded in death by his mother and father, Nettie and Joseph Anglemyer; brother Johnny Anglemyer; sisters Floretta Huffman and Nora Imogene (Jean) Gergasko; and daughter Sandra Lou Adair.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, October 18, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia. Interment with military honors will follow at Rosedale Cemetery, Champaign County. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 noon until time of service.
