Russell L. Howard

HOWARD, Russell L. age 96 of Vandalia passed away Thursday April 29, 2010 at Hospice of Dayton. He was a retired employee of the U.S. Government and was a WWII U.S. Army Air Corp Veteran. Russell was a member of the Vandalia United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Jeanne and 8 brothers and sisters and is survived by one daughter Marsha & husband Tom Dapore of Centerville; 2 grandchildren Jeff & wife Christy Davis of Cocoa Beach, FL and Cherie & husband Chip Stadjuhar of Colorado Springs, CO; 5 grandchildren Dillon, Danielle, and Aaron Davis, Ashley and Taylor Stadjuhar, and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday May 3 at 1:30pm at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia with Rev. Tom Weeks officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 noon until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in Russells memory. The family wishes to send a special thanks to the staff at Miami Valley Hospital Neuro floor and Hospice of Dayton for their loving care of Russell during his illness.
