Ruth E. Hall

HALL, Ruth E., age 83 of Vandalia, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born September 29, 1927 in Cambridge City, IN, daughter of the late James E. & Della Mae (Adkins) Davis. Ruth was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Vandalia. Preceded in death by her husband, Monroe Moe Hall in 2003, 1 son, Steven Hall, 3 brothers & 3 sisters, Ruth is survived by 2 sons, William & wife, Karen Schroeder of CA and Gary & wife, Pat Schroeder of TX; 4 daughters, Donna Harvey of Vandalia, Linda & husband, John Cole of TN, Connie & husband, Pete Britton of Butler Twp. and Gail & husband, Terry Gilliland of WA; 1 sister, Ethel Mae Swigart of IN; special nephew James Jim Davis; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, June 6 at the First Baptist Church, 140 Elva Ct., Vandalia with Mr. John Seagraves officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 2-4 pm at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund in Ruths memory.
