Ruth Harrison

HARRISON, Ruth H. age 85 formerly of Fairborn and a former longtime resident of Northridge, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at the Grace Brethren Village in Englewood after a lengthy illness. She was born July 20, 1921 in Canton, OH daughter of the late John & Evalyne (Leichty) Harshman. Ruth was a retired office manager from WPAFB Credit Union. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fairborn. She was also active with the Mack Memorial Church of the Brethren and had attended the First Grace Brethren Church. Ruth had a very soft and gentle exterior, however she had an inner strength that carried her and the people around her through lifes difficult times. She was preceded in death by her first husband Roy R. Allen and her second husband William L. Harrison. Ruth is survived by her loving family; one son & daughter-in-law Richard & Gretchen Allen of Butler Twp.; one daughter & son-in-law Rita & Luther Huff of Dayton; one sister Vivian Turpin of Cleveland, TN; 4 grandchildren Sarah Huff of Chicago, Isaac & wife Stephanie Huff of Miamisburg, Nicholas Allen & fianc Tara Stanton of Cincinnati, Elizabeth Allen of Cincinnati; 2 great-grandchildren Evelyn & Noah Huff and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Saturday March 3, 2007 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Saunders officiating. Burial followed at Byron Cemetery. If so desired, contributions may be made to the Grace Brethren Village or to Hospice of Dayton in Ruths memory.
