Samuel Gartin

GARTIN, Samuel C. age 73 of Butler Twp., passed away Thursday November 16, 2006 at Hospice of Dayton, following an illness. He was born April 9, 1933 in Harts, W VA, son of the late Grover & Nola (Adkins) Gartin. He was a retired supervisor from Bendix Corp, and was a member of the Central Ave Church of Christ in Fairborn. He was preceded in death by one brother Wondal Gartin. Samuel is survived by his wife of 33 years April Gartin of Butler Twp; 3 daughters Colleen Vienna, Beverly Beck, and Peggy Gartin; one brother Conard S. Gartin; one sister Phyllis Tomblin; 3 step-children Anthony B. Elam, Serena L. Whitehair, Trena A. Hufford; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Sunday Nov. 19, at 3:00pm at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia, with Mr. Conard S. Gartin officiating. Graveside services will be held on Monday Nov. 20 at 1:00pm at the Moore Cemetery in West Liberty, KY. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00pm until time of services. If so desired, contributions may be made to the Hemophilia Association in Mr. Gartners memory.
