Sarah and Kayla Anderson

d. August 5, 2022

Butler Township, Ohio

ANDERSON, Sarah J., age 41 and Kayla E. Anderson, age 15, passed away together Friday, August 5, 2022.  Sarah and Kayla loved big, smiled often, opened their hearts to family and friends and left behind countless memories to be treasured by everyone they impacted in their brief time here with us.

Sarah was born August 14, 1980 in Dayton, Ohio, daughter of Kelly and Kathy (Evans) Brockman.  She was a graduate of Dayton Christian High School, an employee of Premier Health, and member of Christian Life Center.  Sarah was so easy to love, and entirely selfless; making everyone around her feel valued. She was authentic, genuine, sincere, compassionate, generous, kind and light-hearted. She loved to laugh, and her laugh was infectious and wonderful.  She was a loving, loyal and giving wife. She was the social butterfly of the family…the party planner…the event organizer…the friend gatherer…the fun maker.  As a mother, Sarah was indescribable. She loved her daughters with every breath she took. She was their best friend, their provider, and their biggest source of laughter. She was truly irreplaceable…one of a kind.

Kayla was born November 20, 2006, in Dayton, Ohio, to Sarah and Brett.  She was an active sophomore at Vandalia-Butler High School, played forward on the Butler JV soccer team, worked at Airline Dairy Crème, loved her family and hanging out with her friends. Kayla was a mini Sarah in a lot of ways, but was definitely her own person….strong, independent, silly, full of joy, generous…. and a very picky eater. She loved to laugh just like her mom. Having Kayla as a sister was the biggest joy imaginable. Sisterly fights could never outshine the caring and nurturing nature that Kayla showed on a daily basis. Kayla was obsessive with anything she was interested in…sports, music, gymnastics, dancing…she gave 100% to all of it. Kayla was, and always will be a shining light to family, friends, and strangers.

Sarah and Kayla are survived by a loving husband of 22 years, and father, Brett Anderson; daughter and sister, Olivia Anderson; maternal parents and grandparents, Kelly and Kathy Brockman; mother-in-law and father-in-law and paternal grandparents, Deborah and Gregg Anderson; sister, best friend and aunt, Erin Ketchen (Troy); sister-in-law and aunt, Krisha Meeks; niece and best buddy cousin, Maddie Ketchen, nephews and cousins, Tyler Ketchen, Brayden and Gavin Meeks, along with countless relatives, extended family members and treasured friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, August 12 at Christian Life Center, 3489 Little York Road, Dayton, Ohio with Pastor Stan Tharp officiating.  Interments will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.   The Anderson family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, August 11 from 4 pm – 8 pm at Christian Life Center.
