Sheila Victoria Coover, 64, of Huber Heights, Ohio passed away surrounded by loving family after a brief illness on Monday, April 22, 2019. Sheila was born in Richmond, Indiana on November 20, 1954 to the late Ada Keller Parks and Roy Parks. She grew up in Dayton on Hayden Avenue and graduated from Stebbins High School in 1973. She worked as a manager in Human Resources at various healthcare offices, including 28 years at Dayton Gastroenterology and the last several years at Pediatrics Associates of Dayton and St. Leonard Franciscan Living Community. She was looking forward to retirement in a few years in order to spend more time with her two grandbabies who reside in Florida. She loved her grandchildren more than anything and most enjoyed spending time with her family. She approached life with positivity and compassion and had a great sense of humor, infectious laugh, and beautiful smile.
Sheila is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Gary Coover; her children, Stacey (Tom) Novelli and Kevin Coover; grandchildren, Tommy and Adalena Novelli; brothers, Larry (Joann) Parks and Gene Parks; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Bobby Joe and Shirley Cox, Donna Coover, Richard and Janet Coover, and Pam and Rick Horn; nieces and nephews, Dianna (Bill) Petering, Brian (Karen) Parks, Will (Mary) Cox, Heather Coover Adrian, Wendy Hull, Chris (Lea) Coover, Kim (Jim) Cerney, Debbie Coover, Jim (Juda) Coover, Melissa Coover, Chad Horn, and Darcy (Ryan) Mitchell, and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, in-laws Robert and Dorothy Coover, brother Bruce Parks, sister-in-law Kay Coover, brother-in-law Donald Coover, niece Teresa Lonsbury, and great-nephew Aaron Adrian.
A special thank you to the nurses at Miami Valley Hospital Oncology and ICU and Innovative Care Solutions for their support of both Sheila and her family during this difficult time.
Family will receive friends Sunday, April 28 2:00-4:30 pm at Morton & Whetstone, 139 South Dixie Drive, Vandalia, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 29 10:00 am at St. Peter Catholic Church, 6161 Chambersburg Road, Huber Heights, Ohio. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, 1625 Calvary Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio.
