Shirley A. Snapp

SNAPP, Shirley Ann , age 82 of Vandalia passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017. She was born May 26, 1934 in Dayton, OH, daughter of the late Felix & Frances Goubeaux. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert Snapp; 2 sisters, Vivian McNamee & Nancy Roth, 1 brother, James Goubeaux, Shirley is survived by her son, Bryan & wife, Tonya Snapp of Troy, daughter, Jodi & husband, Ron Armstrong of Dayton; grandchildren, Leland, Aleah, Ryan & Aaron; good friend & caregiver, Chuck Sleppy, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Shirley was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church, and faithfully served as the Director of Religious Education for 11 years with the St. Christopher School. She was also very active in Marriage Encounter and served as President of the Rosary Altar Society with St. John the Baptist Church. She was a lifelong educator teaching at schools in California, Missouri and Ohio. She was a member of the Vandalia Senior Citizens and was Past President and a Life Member of the Sertoma Club. A Graveside Service will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Tipp City, OH at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, May 3 with Rev. Fr. John Tonkin officiating. Prior to the graveside service on May 3, there will be a visitation held from 12:00 – 1:00 pm, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia.
