FRYE, Solie Gordon, age 90, of Huber Heights, passed away, Monday, February 2, 2009 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born February 26, 1918 in Belva, West Virginia, son of the late George W. & Willie Fonda (Prather) Frye. Solie was a US Army veteran of WW II, was a member of the Church of God, and was retired from Bode Finn. Preceded in death by 1 infant daughter, Marjorie, 3 brothers, Delbert, Robert & George Frye, and 1 sister, Eva Masters, Solie is survived by his wife of 49 years, Agnes (Williams); 2 sons, Randall & wife, Kaye Frye of GA, and Bruce & wife, Linda Stahl of Dayton; 3 daughters, Wanda & husband, Dale Bragg of Clayton, Mary & husband, Michael Trantanella of Butler Twp., and Betty & husband, George Hannon of AZ; 1 brother, James & wife, Francis Frye of Kettering; 1 sister, Mary Priest & husband, Haymon of MD; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, February 5, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Burial to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250 in Solies memory. The family would like to offer special thanks to the nursing staff at Spring Creek Nursing Center for the care provided to Solie throughout his stay.
