Sonja (Jones) Stephenson

STEPHENSON, Sonja L. (Jones) age 58 of Durham, NC, formerly of Vandalia, passed away Sunday March 15, 2009 at her mothers home in Vandalia after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Sonja was a retired employee of Kmart stores with over 20 years of service. She was preceded in death by her father Lewis Wright and a son Brent Jones. She is survived by her husband Mauri Stephenson of Durham, NC; her mother Thelma Wright of Vandalia; 2 sons Brian (Holly) Jones of Bowling Green, Bradley (Sherri) Jones of Fairborn; one brother Mark (Kathy) Wright of Ripley, OH; one nephew Dustin and 2 nieces Danielle and Dawn; 2 step-children Angela (David) Starke, and Tony (Erin) Stephenson; 3 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday March 20 at 10:00am at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia with Rev. Ron Hajarian officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6 to 8pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Sonjas memory.
