Sophie M Tockarsky

TOCKARSKY, Sophie (Kiwacka) age 99, of Vandalia, passed away July 23, 2013. She was born in Dayton to the late Antoinette and Anthony Kiwacka. In addition to her parents, Sophie was also preceded in death by her husband, Michael Tockarsky; sisters, Helen (George) Meyer; Genevieve (Cass) Speasmaker; Florence (Edward) Bystrek; and brother, Stanley (Betty) Kiwacka; son-in-law, Robert Williams. She is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Williams; grandchildren, Michael (Mary) Williams; Lynn Williams; Theresa Williams; Daniel Williams; and Terence (Donna) Williams; great-grandchildren, Shannon; Emily; Tara; Taylor; and Kala; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Sophie will be remembered and treasured for her love of life, family, faith. She loved to cook for large gatherings of family and friends, and infused every occasion with her artistic flair. She will be greatly missed. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday July 29 at 11:00am at St Christopher Catholic Church, Vandalia with Fr. Robert Monnin officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia on Sunday afternoon from 2-4pm.
