Susan Huff Sincerbeaux, of Centerville, aged 79, passed away October 15, 2024. She was born June 11, 1945, in Dayton, Ohio. Sue attended the Vandalia Butler Schools, graduating in 1963, and received her B.S. in Education from The Ohio State University in 1967. She taught high school English for two years, the first in Puerto Rico for the U.S Navy and the second, back at Vandalia Butler High School. She married Robert G. Sincerbeaux, in 1970 and eventually settled in Ossining, NY. After working with educational film companies for several years, Sue started her own graphic design business in New York City. She semi-retired in 2002 and worked the next 12 years as an office manager of the First Presbyterian Church in Ossining, NY. She moved to Bedford Corners, NY in 2007 and lived there until 2019, when she moved back to the Dayton area. Susan’s last few months were spent at The Trinity Community of Miami Township, where she met many new friends and had new activities to enjoy. Shortly after she was born, Susan was adopted by Thelma and Darwin Huff, and their son, David. Sue and David, along with their parents developed a loving, caring family bond. They have predeceased Sue, as well as one cousin, Jack Munson, who lived with their family for a time. After her adopted family died, Susan pursued locating her birth family and found them in 2017. Several first cousins reside in the Dayton area. They are Albert Smith, Mark Smith, Ken Smith, and Keith Sage, from Boston. Judy Haugen, another first cousin predeceased her. Sue was warmly welcomed by her new family and enjoyed several family reunions with them. Sue also loved her “gang” of six other women with whom she shared friendship for over 70 years. (With love for our dear, lifelong friend, from Janet, Nancy, Jane, Barb, Dottie, and Fran). A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at the Poplar Hill Cemetery, 1340 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia, with Rev. Michael Malcosky officiating.
