Tennyson S. Shroyer, Jr.

February 12, 1923 — February 11, 2015

Tennyson S. Shroyer Jr. "Shiek" Age 92 of Butler Twp., passed away Wednesday February 11, 2015 at Hospice of Dayton. Shiek was born February 12, 1923 in Dayton, son of the late Tennyson & Geneva Shroyer. He was a WWII US Navy Veteran. After the war he became a cabinet maker. He loved to tell jokes to everybody he talked with; he said he wanted people to laugh after he died so he had inscribed on the back of his monument "I TRIED TO TELL YOU I WAS SICK!" He leaves behind a great-niece Linda Burke of Flint, MI; his step son-in-law, Tony Eversole; and 2 step-granddaughters Linsey and Sarah Eversole of Dayton. He was preceded in death by parents; 2 brothers Frank & Roland; 4 sisters Pansy, Edna May, Delores, and Audrey and his wife Ruth. He was cherished by great-niece Linda Burke and her son Julian and mother Cecile Burke, and great-niece Julie Greco and daughter Aimie and all who met him. Shiekie was truly blessed to have wonderful, loving neighbors and friends. They enhanced each other's lives for over 50 years - gifts to each other! He will truly be missed. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Shiekie's memory.
