Terry Michael Wilmer, 69, of Dayton, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016. Terry was born December 17, 1947 to Paul and Dolores Wilmer. He is survived by his 3 children, Laura Knipp of Englewood, Amy Smith (Bill) of Vandalia and Michael Wilmer of Clayton. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Benjamin and Mary Knipp, Timothy, Matt and Nick Smith and Garett Wilmer and 1 great grandchild, David. He is also survived by his sister, Sylvia Huddleston (Tom) of Brandon, Florida and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. His parents, Paul and Dolores Wilmer and his brother Paul Wilmer, Jr. predecease him. At one time, Terry had been active as an EMS/Firefighter for Wayne Township and Mad River Township and was a police officer for Randolph Township until 1997. Terry spent many years employed at IWD (Waste Management) and most recently had retired from Dayton City Schools as a custodian. He always took pride in caring for “his” building and “his’ kids. A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 pm, Friday, December 30, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 pm until time of service.
