Thelma B. Tate

TATE, Thelma Bernadine (Jones), age 97 of New Weston, Ohio passed away at home on April 2, 2016 at 12:54 pm surrounded by family. Born April 8, 1918 to Fairy E. and Benjamin H. Jones Sr., Thelma was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Paul F. Tate Sr., granddaughter, Margaret E. Cooper, brother, Benjamin H. Jones Jr. and his wife, Fay M. Jones. She is survived by her children, Fairy E. Cooper (E. James), Patricia S. Yoon (James H.) and Paul F. Tate Jr. (Bonnie J.); grandchildren, James P. Cooper, Peggy A. Recinos, Annette P. Washburn, Tobi L. Wells, Beth Yoon-Schulte and Emily R. Tate; great-grandchildren, MacKenzie L. Washburn, Benjamin D. Washburn, Brigid M. Cooper, Taylor V. Wells, Caroline E. Recinos, Samantha R. Washburn, Gabriel J. Washburn, and Rubyanne R. Washburn. Her passing also leaves her beloved cat, Babe to mourn her. Thelma graduated from Roosevelt High School, Class of 1936. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, April 8, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6-8 pm. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Thelma’s name to State of the Heart Hospice of Darke Co, 1350 N. Broadway, Greenville, OH 45331.
