Thomas A. “Tom” Beck

Age 79, of Vandalia, passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 10, 2018. Tom was born August 21, 1938 in Dubuque, Iowa to the late Stanley & Coleta (Fosselman) Beck. In addition to his parents, Tom was also preceded in death by a sister, Kaye Washburn.

Tom was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Huber Heights where he very much enjoyed “Doughnut Sundays.” He was a veteran of the U. S. Army; a life member of the NRA; an avid hunter & outdoorsman; and he volunteered with the Spring Valley Wildlife Area. He retired from Dayton Children’s Hospital – Radiology Department.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of the past 52 years, Judith E. “Judy” (Gall) Beck; two children, Michele Beck & Brian Beck (Amy); two grandchildren, Jordan Castro & Emily Molina; three siblings, James Beck (Dolly), Robert Beck (Deborah) & Nancy Dennison (Dr. Daniel); and by his extended family & many good friends.

A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday (4/16) at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Rev. Bobbie Predmore will officiate. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 12 Noon until time of service.
