Thomas J. Vehr

VEHR, Thomas J., age 85 of Vandalia passed away unexpectedly Friday, February 8, 2013. He was born February 3, 1928 in Cincinnati, OH, son of the late Jacob & Catherine (Shine) Vehr. Thomas was a graduate of the University of Dayton, a U.S. Army Veteran, a member of the St. Christopher Catholic Church and a retired electrical engineer. Preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Vehr and his second wife, Dorothy Klare, Thomas is survived by his five children, Linda Keister (Forrest), Dan Vehr (Jill), Steve Vehr (Becky), Jim Vehr (Karen) and Elaine Pike (Ron); 7 grandchildren, Diane, Skye, Pamela, Shawn, Erin, Carrie & Paul; 6 great-grandchildren, Chase, Giovanni, Nicholas, Indigo, Lacy & Lilly. He is also survived by Dorothys 3 daughters, their children and grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, February 15, at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 435 E. National Rd with Fr. Francis Keferl officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday morning from 10:00 am until time of service.
