Thomas Jackson “Jack” Fluty

Age 85, of Vandalia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 from Covid-19 virus. Jack was born in Delbarton, WV on October 19, 1935.

A member of the Vandalia Masonic Lodge #742 for 60 years, Jack retired from his civilian work at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in 1998 after over 18 years of service. His work career included 20 years with Price Brothers Company, several years of miscellaneous self-owned businesses and 4 years of service to the United States Navy. Jack was an entertainer, singer, guitarist, a master storyteller, adept conversationalist & one who had a knack for making things work that previously did not.

He was above all a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.

He is survived by his wife Mary, son Jeff (wife Amy & her sons Joshua, Cody & Nathan), daughters Sandra (her children Alexandra, Megan & Emery) & Gayle, sister Gladys, brother Charles H (Chuck), an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins & numerous friends considered as family.

The family will be receiving friends on Monday, March 8, 2021, from 10:45 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Vandalia United Methodist Church, 200 S. Dixie Drive, Vandalia, Ohio 45377. Blue Lodge Masonic Service and a celebration of life service will begin at 12:30 p.m. at the church. Pastor Michael Malcosky will officiate. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Tipp City. Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home (Vandalia) is in charge of arrangements.

Jack Fluty was a beacon of light to all who knew him and will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer that donations be made to the donor’s favorite charity in memory of Jack or that you simply enjoy time spent with loved ones in his honor.

Due to Covid-19 concerns that family requests that those attending the visitation and celebration of life observe the restrictions by keeping proper social distance, wearing a mask, not shaking hands, hugging, etc.
