Thurman Dodson

DODSON, Thurman E., age 82 of Butler Twp., passed away Friday, February 1, 2008 at Miami Valley Hospital. Thurman was a US Navy Veteran of WWII, having served on the LST-378. He was a retired District Fire Chief with the City of Dayton with 29 years of service. Thurman is survived by his wife, Wanda Dodson; son & daughter-in-law, Mark & Elizabeth Dodson of Freeland, MD; grandson, Benjamin Dodson; sister & brother-in-law, Edith & Larry Lawrence of San Diego, CA; sister-in-law, Shirley Dodson of Fairborn and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, February 4, 2008 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Burial to follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 noon until time of service. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Miami Valley Hospital Burn Unit in Thurmans memory.
