Vaunita F. Sherer

Age 92, of Butler Twp., passed away Thursday, August 17, 2017, at Hearth & Home. Vaunita was born February 6, 1925 in Albany, Missouri to the late Earl W. & Vera (Graham) Schwyhart. In addition to her parents, Vaunita was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Robert Sherer, in 2009.

Vaunita was a member of Salem Church of God. For over 60 years, with her husband, she was co-owner & operator of Sherer’s Ice Cream “We make good ice cream” Shop on North Main Street in Dayton.

Vaunita is survived by two children, Pamela Sherer Javorina and Robert H. Sherer (Barbara); two sisters, Marjorie Ridgway (Glen) & Fauniel Lloyd; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 22, at Salem Church of God, 6500 Southway Road, Clayton, Ohio 45315. Chaplain David Snowden and Rev. James Titcombe will officiate. Interment will follow at Polk Grove Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the church from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made in memory of Vaunita to Heartland Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association.
