Vernon Leo Brown

Age 95, of Harrison Twp., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 8, 2023, at Friendship Village. Vernon was born December 3, 1927 in Morehead, Kentucky to the late Sherman & Ann (Eperhart) Brown.

Vernon was a member of the Christian Chapel Church, where he served as a deacon, song leader and general all-around caretaker. He retired in 1977 from the Inland Division of General Motors with 30 years of service. He enjoyed gardening and mowing grass.

Vernon is survived by his loving wife of the past 74 years, Willena K. (Carver) Brown; three children, Hazel Coleman & her husband, Roger, Edith Parks & her husband, Tom and Lovell Brown & his wife, Pat; one brother, Omer Brown; four grandchildren, Beth, Bridget, Becca & Elisha; eight great grandchildren, Joshua, Adelynn, Megan, Nate, Ryan, Katie, Macy & Kiera; and by his extended family & many good friends.

The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 – 11:00 am on Thursday (May 18) at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am with Rev. Steve Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Tipp City.
