KOEWLER, Violet M., age 92, of Vandalia, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born July 30, 1920 in Dayton, OH, daughter of the late Lewis & Vera Kane. Vi lived her entire life in the city of Vandalia and was a successful business women for over 60 years. She attended First Baptist Church in Vandalia and was a member of the Englewood Chapter of the Eastern Star, OES #563. She is survived by her children, Philip Koewler (Carol), David Koewler (Joan) and Karen (Koewler) Gallup; 4 grandchildren, Nancy Gallup, John N. Gallup (Akari), Todd Koewler (Sarah), & Brad Koewler; and 9 great-grandchildren, Tianna, Renee, Anthony, Danielle, Elizabeth, Laura, Phillip, Cassidy & Sophia. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, January 7 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Mr. John Seagraves officiating . Burial will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2-4 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Vandalia-Butler Food Pantry in Violets memory.
