Virginia M Horn

HORN, Virginia M. age 94 of Vandalia, passed away Saturday January 9, 2016 at the Maria Joseph Living Care Center. She was born November 12, 1921 in Wells, MN, daughter of the late George & Gladys (Garver) Schmidt. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Horn, son Robert Horn, brother and sister-in-law Kenny & Emma Schmidt, brother-in-law Ben Gracyalny, daughter-in-law Pauline Yvonne (Little) Horn, grandchildren Sonya Horn, Bartholomew Proctor, Jason Horn and Robert Smith. She is survived by sons Bill (Jeannie) Nisius, Wayne (Gloria) Horn, daughters Charlene Roberts and Marcy (Brian) Proctor, sister Theresa Gracyalny, brothers Herbie (Betty) Schmidt and Don (Gertie) Schmidt, sister-in-law Charlotte Evans, 9 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Surrounding her with love as she departed were her daughter Charlene, great-grandson Anthony and the loving care of Trivita Hospice. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday January 15 at 10:00am at St Christopher Catholic Church 435 E. National Rd. Vandalia with Fr Francis Keferl officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia on Thursday evening from 5-7pm.
