Walter Robert “Bob” Gunter, Jr. age 75 of Huber Heights, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 18, 2021.
Robert is survived by his wife of 49 years, Kristie (Lands); two daughters, Michelle Gunter and Melissa (Jeff) Dahlin; and two grandsons, Jonah and Caleb.
Bob was born October 22, 1945 in Harriman, Tennessee to the late Walter R. Gunter, Sr. and Johny Mae (Melton). He was the baby and only son amongst 5 children. Bob graduated from Walter E. Stebbins High School and made a career as a bank manager at KeyBank and after retiring from KeyBank, he worked at and retired from Wright Patt Credit Union. A veteran of the United States Air Force, he bravely served his country during the Vietnam War.
In his spare time, you would find Robert birdwatching with Kristie, playing cards, or as an Oldies music lover, listening to the Beatles. He was an active member and Deacon at the New Apostolic Church in Beavercreek.
The family would like to extend special thanks and deepest gratitude to the caregivers at The Landings of Huber Heights, Hospice of Dayton, and Interim HealthCare Hospice of Ohio (Huber Heights) for the exceptional care and comfort they provided throughout the duration of his illness.

A Graveside Service with military honors will be held Tuesday, August 24th at 11 am at Bethel Cemetery, 5801 Philipsburg Union Rd., Englewood, OH 45322. Please arrive by 10:50.
Caring, kind, and compassionate are the attributes that come to mind when remembering Bob. He was a friend and helping hand to many who will feel his absence.
