GIBBS, Wanda L. (Scowden) Wanda was a daughter of the late Paul & Minnie (Brown) Scowden. She was born April 11, 1942 in Beavers Ridge, OH. She departed this life on December 21, 2007 at the age of 65 years, 8 months and 10 days. On April 26, 1963 she was united in marriage to Robert Lee Gibbs. Two children were born, one son, one daughter and one grandson. The loved ones she left behind are her husband of 44 years Robert L. Gibbs of Vandalia, OH; her children John K. Gibbs of Vandalia, OH, Paula (Gibbs) & Bill Licher of Dayton, OH and a grandson Cameron John Gibbs who she loved so very much; brother Paul & Judy Scowden of Delware, OH; sisters Elizabeth & Gene Music of Englewood, OH, Carol & Jim Leyes of Vandalia, OH, Nancy & Carlos Herman of Vandalia, OH and Brenda & Wayne Williams of Piketon, OH; step-mother Minnie Scowden of Piketon, OH; 6 nephews Chris Leyes, Jonathan Scowden, Jeremy Scowden, Andrew Williams, Matt Herman & Jared Williams; 2 nieces Marti (Music) Swallwood and Jessica (Gibbs) Cline. She was a wonderful friend and neighbor and a devoted wife. She will sadly be missed by her husband, children, grandson, brother, sisters, nieces, nephews and numerous friends that she loved so much. Funeral services will be held Saturday December 29 at 1:00 pm at the First Baptist Church 140 Elva Ct. Vandalia with Pastor Dax Taulbee and brother-in-law Wayne Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday evening from 5 to 8pm. Arrangements in care of Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia.
