Warner A. Sykes

Age 80 of Troy, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023, at the Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit. Warner was born February 11, 1943 in Buchanan County, Virginia to the late Roscoe W. & Mary E. (Lester) Sykes. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Linda K. Sykes, in 2021; brother, C. E. Sykes; sister, Pauline Sykes; and by a grandson, Cory Wright.

Warner was an Elder with the Vandalia Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses; he retired from General Motors. He enjoyed gardening, bluegrass music and playing his mandolin. Above all, his faith and  Christian ministry were the most important aspects of his life.

Warner is survived by two children, Kristy Sykes and Jeffrey Sykes; three grandchildren, Dain, Penny & Charity Sykes; six great grandchildren, Vada, Camden, Wyatt, Braylon, Audrey & Kasey; and by his extended family & many good friends.

Services will be held at a later date at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
