William S. Borchers

William “Bill” Smith Borchers
Age 76 of Las Vegas, NV, formerly of Vandalia, OH, passed away at Desert Springs Hospital, Las Vegas, Tuesday, November 21, 2017. He was born November 3, 1941 to the late Harry and Helen (Smith) Borchers. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dr. James C. Borchers. Bill is survived by two daughters, Rebecca (Tony) Monago, and Rachel Johnson; 3 grandsons, his sister, Joy (Bob) Mathews and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill graduated from Vandalia-Butler High School in 1959 and Otterbein University, Westerville, OH in 1963. He was a juvenile probation officer in Dayton, Ohio before he found his calling as a pharmaceutical representative for 38 years with Proctor and Gamble. He was a member of the Zeta Phi fraternity and the Elks #1468. Bill enjoyed country music, snow and water skiing, traveling, hunting, and Senior softball. Bill was an extraordinary man with a magnetic charm and will be sorely missed. He will remain forever in our hearts. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 30 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm. Interment to be held at Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your local animal shelter or to The Salvation Army in Bill’s memory.
